Sailor's father: 'There was a freak wave which broke over the back of the boat'

The US coastguard has launched another rescue mission to try and help three British sailors and an Australian, who were hurt when a large wave hit their yacht in the Pacific Ocean during the Clipper Round-the-World race.

The four suffered a range of injuries during a storm about 400 miles off California.

The four are Jane Hitchens, 50, from Kent, the onboard medic; Nik Brbora, 29, of London; Max Wilson, 62, a farmer from Queensland, Australia, and Mark Burkes, 47, of Worcestershire.

Peter Burkes, the father of Mark, says he thinks his son will be exhausted but he will be coping.
