Turkish traditions and trade: Profile of ZemZem Atelier

As a child of Turkish guest workers in Germany, Zemra Acarli always dreamed of owning a fashion line that bridged both cultures.

She began by designing scarves - a piece of clothing often relating to religion in the East and a fashion item in the West.

It has proved profitable for Zemra - as well as for the women who stitch and sew for her, some of whom are earning a salary for the first time.
