Chinese poultry slaughtered in bird flu outbreak

Chinese authorities have begun a mass slaughter of poultry at a market in Shanghai after a new strain of bird flu was discovered in samples of pigeon.

Meanwhile the number of human deaths from the virus has risen to five.
