Mahmoud Abbas greets Palestinian prisoners freed by Israel

Israeli authorities have freed a group of 26 Palestinian prisoners as part of a US-brokered agreement to resume direct peace talks.

The prisoners were greeted by cheering crowds on their return, with eight heading to Gaza. The remaining 18 were welcomed by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas at his headquarters in the West Bank.
