The Indian mobile phone dilemma

India is one of the world's fastest growing markets for mobile phones with 900 million subscribers.

It sounds like a lucrative market to be involved in. But network operators have just committed $10bn in the latest round of spectrum auctions - essentially selling mobile phone networks the rights to transmit the signals they need.

With many of those operators saying the prices they ended up paying were too high, what does it mean for the companies and their customers?
