Terry Pratchett death: 'Nothing was sacred to him' - Val McDermid
Scottish author Val McDermid has praised Sir Terry Pratchett's "irreverence" and "inventiveness", following the fantasy writer's death.
Sir Terry died on Thursday, eight years after being diagnosed with a rare form of early onset Alzheimer's called posterior cortical atrophy.
Ms McDermid told BBC Breakfast that his work challenged the old rules of fantasy writing through his use of humour and depiction of female characters.
