Struggle to fund first Youth Olympics in Singapore

The first ever Youth Olympics is due to start in Singapore.

It is the brainchild of International Olympic Committee president Jacques Rogge, and is another chance for organisers and sponsors to extend the Olympic brand beyond the current Summer and Winter Olympics.

Convincing companies to sponsor the games has been difficult, as investors feel backing the new event is a risk.

Sharanjit Leyl reports from Singapore.
