Global trade boom lifts container shipper Maersk

A return to profit is expected from the world's biggest container shipping firm, AP Moller-Maersk Group. The Danish company releases first half earnings later.

Last year, ocean shippers lost an estimated $15bn (£10bn). This year they are making money again.

Analysts are expecting the trend to continue for this year provided there is not a sharper slowdown in the economic recovery in the US and the EU.

There is also concern that a recent increase in transportation costs could land on the consumers bill.
