Fugitive tycoon Asil Nadir greets media in London

Fugitive tycoon Asil Nadir has flown back to the UK after evading trial since 1993.

Mr Nadir, 69, left his home in northern Cyprus to face fraud charges relating to the collapse of his Polly Peck business empire in 1990.

He is due to appear at the Old Bailey on 3 September.

As he arrived at a property in Mayfair, central London, Mr Nadir told the waiting media he had come to the UK voluntarily.
