China 'rare earths' restriction feared

Rare earths are minerals used across a vast range of modern technologies, including computers and televisions.

China currently accounts for nearly all global production but there are now fears that although they already restrict supplies, it may go even further than it already does.

John Meyer, Head of Resources at Fairfax says China believes other countries must take care of their own rare earth supply.
