UK economy recovery faster than expected

There was better than expected news for the UK economy on Tuesday.

Production figures show it grew twice as fast as predicted in the third quarter of this year.

The Office for National Statistics said Britain's economy grew 0.8% between July and September, a quarter of which was due to the construction sector.

However, the increase was less than the second quarter of the year, which saw 1.2% growth. The economy is expected to slow next year as government spending cuts bite.

BBC' business reporter Simon Jack analyses the data.
