Alan Johnson says UK output will be hit by cutbacks

Economic growth slowed between July and September - but by less than most experts had predicted.

The UK economy expanded by 0.8% compared with 1.2% in the previous three months. Some economists had feared the UK was stalling on the back of spending cut threats by the government.

The shadow chancellor, Alan Johnson, believes a "steadier, surer" approach is needed to ensure a faster recovery.
