Cameron promotes democracy in China

UK Prime Minister, David Cameron has been promoting the benefits of democracy in a keynote speech to Chinese students in Beijing.

In an address to university students, the prime minister said parliamentary democracy and a free media and judiciary were the "best guarantors of prosperity and stability".

He also said he hoped for a relationship with China based on "constructive dialogue... in a spirit of tolerance and mutual respect".
