New inquiry to analyse energy prices

An inquiry is to be launched into gas and electricity prices following a 40% rise in suppliers' profit margins.

The figure is the highest level for five years. The inquiry will be conducted by the energy regulator OFGEM

Its chief executive, Alistair Buchanan, told the BBC all aspects of the companies' accounts would be analysed.
