US retailers hope for Black Friday success

Wall Street may have been taking a break for Thanksgiving but America's Main Street is most definitely open for business. Friday is what Americans call Black Friday - the day after Thanksgiving that marks the start of the Christmas shopping season.

It is the most important time of the year for retailers and they are hoping for a major return to form after a dismal 2009 as US shoppers begin to recover their appetite for spending.
