Warning against Christmas loan sharks

The number of people who owe money to loan sharks has doubled in the past four years, according to new research.

The consultancy group Policis, which advises the government, says this Christmas more than 250,000 people may borrow money from illegal lenders - exposing themselves to vastly inflated interest rates, threats and violence.
