Government 'tweaking' energy tariffs for solar farms

The government has announced plans that could stop the rapid growth in solar power farms. According to ministers, tariffs that are given to people who generate electricity by putting solar panels or wind turbines on their homes are being used up too quickly.

It also says that big solar farms threaten to use up the available cash for homes and small businesses who want to use the system.

The energy minister, Greg Barker rejected a suggestion that the scheme does not work.
