UK retail sales rebound in January from December slump

UK retail sales rebounded in January after heavy snow caused a big drop in December sales.

The volume of retail sales in January rose 1.9% on the previous month, according to the Office for National Statistics.

The higher than expected rise is a rare piece of good economic news, but some are warning there are difficult times ahead.
