AA Insurance: European gender-based ruling 'could raise premiums'

The European Court of Justice has ruled insurers cannot charge different premiums to men and women because of their gender.

The decision means women will no longer be charged less than men for car insurance, and the cost of buying a pensions annuity will change.

Simon Douglas of AA Insurance said he is concerned that insurance prices for younger drivers may become even more expensive.
