John Lewis workers celebrate 18% bonus

Staff at John Lewis and Waitrose are to get bonuses equivalent to 18% of their pay.

John Lewis said that its 76,500 staff would share a bonus pool of £194.5m meaning that staff at the employee-owned partnership will each receive a bonus worth an average of more than nine weeks' pay.

The John Lewis Partnership made pre-tax profits of £367.9m in 2010.
