Rolls-Royce to hire foreign boss despite 'golden share' agreement

Rolls Royce, one of the crown jewels of UK business, is taking steps towards appointing a foreign boss.

It is something the company is theoretically banned from doing under the so-called "golden share" arrangement, which gave the government power to control bosses at certain top firms.

Howard Wheeldon from BGC Partners, thinks certain firms should be under the government's watch whilst Hugo Dixon of Breaking Views argues in favour of letting all the restrictions go.
