Mortgage advisers Charcol on house price survey

People who do not own their own home are more pessimistic than ever about their chances of getting on the property ladder, according to new figures.

Two thirds of non-homeowners say they cannot see how they can afford a home.

The research, was carried out for Britain's biggest mortgage lender, the Halifax.

Ray Boulger is from the mortgage brokers Charcol and he said the main problem people face was saving up for a deposit.
