Greek government faces 'critical week' over cuts

The biggest evening protest to date against austerity cuts took place in Athens on Sunday night.

The Greek cabinet meets on Monday to discuss deeper cuts.

Ministers are expected to back further tax rises, public-sector job losses and the formation of an agency to privatise state assets.

It is all designed to save an additional $114bn (£70bn) between now and 2015.

In return, the government hopes to secure more bail-out aid.

Norval Loftus, director of Allegra Asset Management, told the BBC: ''Greece faces a critical week."
