David Cameron: We will help repair riot damage

The prime minister has said the rebuilding of riot-damaged homes and businesses will start as soon as possible.

David Cameron has told the House of Commons that anyone whose property has been damaged during the riots can claim compensation under the Riot Damages Act 1886.

He also pledged to help small businesses get back on their feet with a high street support scheme.
