Markets suffer roller coaster ride around world

Some Asian stocks have risen following gains in the US and Europe.

From plummeting lows to soaring highs, the world's markets have become extremely turbulent.

Now France, Italy, Spain and Belgium have banned short-selling on the shares of banks and other financial companies after sharp gains and losses in bank stocks in recent days.

In Britain the Chancellor George Osborne has warned that these are the most dangerous times since the banking crisis three years ago.
