BMW electrifies carbon fibre cars

The German carmaker BMW will display two ultra-lightweight cars at next week's motor show in Frankfurt, constructed largely from rigid carbon fibre. as part of the launch of its new electric motoring division BMWi.

The i3 is a small electric city car that seats four, the i8 is a petrol-electric hybrid sportscar.
