How art has given new life to Moroccan town

An art festival has helped a town in northern Morocco transform itself from somewhere with open sewers a into a clean, environmentally aware community.

Since 1978, the people of Assilah have been encouraged to paint their white walls with murals and other works of art.

Town mayor Mohamed Benaissa told BBC News what inspired him to start the festival and how it has encouraged civic pride.
