Amazon's Kindle Fire takes aim at the Apple iPad

Amazon is set to unveil a tablet computer to rival the Apple iPad on Wednesday.

The new device is expected to be called the Kindle Fire and will retail for about $300 (£190) in the US.

The cheapest version of the current iPad is about $499.
