Strong results expected for Chinese banks

Despite Europe's debt problems, growth in Asia is holding up well. This week several Chinese banks will announce their earnings for the third quarter of 2011, which are expected to be strong.

Michael Werner, senior banking analyst at Sanford C. Bernstein in Hong Kong, tells the BBC growth is likely to continue even as the Chinese government and central bank seek to cool the economy.
