Shops hope for Christmas sales boost

Europe would be helped out of its debt crisis by stronger economic growth but one key part of that growth - retail sales - has been sluggish.

The latest figures for all 27 EU countries, including Britain, will be published later however, shops across Europe are hoping sales will pick-up over the Christmas period.
