Pacific free trade talks gain momentum

Proposals for a free trade zone in the Asia-Pacific region have gathered pace at the annual summit of Apec members in Hawaii.

Although China, the dominant economy in the region after the US, is not likely to be an initial member of the zone it is likely to join eventually, according to John Quelch of the China-Europe International Business School.
