Air Passenger Duty: 'Tax damages UK economy'

Easyjet, Ryanair, Virgin Atlantic and British Airways are calling for the UK government to scrap Air Passenger Duty.

When APD was introduced, passengers whose journey originated in the UK paid up to £40 per ticket whereas now they have to pay from £24 to £170.

Steve Ridgway, CEO of Virgin Atlantic, and Carolyn McCall, CEO of Easyjet, say it damages the economy.
