Olympus 'to get Japanese boss'

Scandal-hit Japanese camera-maker Olympus will likely appoint an existing Japanese employee as its next chief executive, analyst Martin Schulz has told the BBC's Asia Business Report.

Mr Schulz, from the Tokyo-based Fujitsu Research Institute, said it was unlikely that the firm would appoint another foreign-born boss.

His comments come as Olympus continues to deal with an accountancy scandal.

Its former chief executive, Michael Woodford, was fired from the company last month after he discovered and revealed that Olympus had been hiding millions of dollars of losses.

He is due to return to Olympus' headquarters on Friday for a meeting with the board.
