Luxury cars take centre-stage at Detroit Auto Show

World car manufacturers are showing off their new models at the Detroit Auto Show with the hopes of taking a bite out of the US's luxury car market.

Analysts expect auto sales to grow this year in the US, but many are wary of how the sovereign debt crisis in Europe could affect sales.

Some American auto workers are calling for changes to the way the car industry is run and have been staging protests in Detroit.
