Royal Bank of Scotland boss Stephen Hester turns down £1m bonus

Royal Bank of Scotland chief executive Stephen Hester will not accept a bonus worth almost £1m, after days of political controversy.

He had been under growing pressure to decline the shares, as his bank is largely owned by the taxpayer.
