Former Olympus president arrested for fraud

Japanese police have arrested the former president of Olympus, the camera maker, Tsuyoshi Kikukawa, for questioning about his role in one of the country's biggest financial scandals.

Mr Kikukawa is suspected of being part of a long term cover up of losses at Olympus, amounting to $1.7bn.

Police are also investigating other former Olympus executives.
