Civilian demand for drones rises

Sales of unmanned aircraft are growing fast as demand from both military and civilian customers increases.

Sales of Northrop Grumman's Global Hawk drone, for example, are surging, the company's Bill Schaefer told the BBC at the Singapore Air Show.

But Asian companies, such as Yotaisc, are also trying to break into the market. Sales have tripled in the past two years and it is now China's biggest private manufacturer of civilian drones.

The drone makers told BBC News about the various military and civilian uses for drones.
