'There's a massive skills gap in the market', say recruiters
One third of businesses feel that schools do not teach young people the skills they need to enter the jobs market.
A report says that businesses feel teenagers lack everything from basic numeracy to having the right attitude towards work.
Last year the Government launched a work experience programme aimed at getting young people into the jobs environment, but the scheme has been quite controversial.
There have been allegations that the scheme offers little more than unpaid labour for the stores involved.
