Cinema snacks: Is popcorn too pricey?

Film fans have long complained that snacks sold in cinemas are over-priced, with many venues charging more than £5 for a box of popcorn.

Some would prefer to take their own snacks but this is usually frowned upon and theatres often have an outright ban on food purchased elsewhere.

Are the cinemas being greedy or should people be willing to pay the price for their movie munchies?

Film critic Karen Krizanovich and Andrew Myers, the CEO of the Everyman Cinemas chain, joined BBC Breakfast to debate the issue.
