Many still struggling with debt, says charity

The Consumer Credit Counselling Service has warned that although people are working hard to reduce their debt, many are still struggling.

They have also said there is a growing number of younger people contacting them for debt advice.

The number of under-25s seeking help with their debts rose by 10% last year, and the number who needed help after taking out a loan with a payday lender doubled.

The total amount owed to payday loans firms by younger people last year was £22m.

Teresa Perchard from Citizens Advice told the BBC that her advice to those in debt was "don't put your head in the sand", but get help and advice.
