Young collectors boost Middle East art

Galleries and dealers from across the Middle East have been gathering in Dubai for the regions biggest art fair.

Dubai's art scene has grown rapidly in recent years - galleries have multiplied and the emirate is increasingly being seen as the region's art trading hub.

Spurring the development of the art scene are the region's collectors.

Those buying up much of the art here are younger patrons - many from Saudi, Qatar and the UAE - who are keen to invest in contemporary works from emerging artists within their own region.
