Rise in stamp prices is 'essential', says Royal Mail

The price of a first-class stamp will rise from 46p to 60p next month after the industry regulator, Ofcom, lifted some controls on Royal Mail.

A second-class stamp will also go up from 36p to 50p from April 30th.

The chief executive of Royal Mail, Moya Greene, told the BBC that the cost of a stamp is still good value.

However, speaking ahead of her, shoppers in West London disagreed.
