Shoppers try to beat stamp price rise

The Royal Mail is limiting the number of stamps it issues, ahead of a sharp increase in prices at the end of the month.

It says the move is intended to "protect its revenue", but many customers are unhappy and have been trying to stockpile stamps.

A first class stamp which currently costs 46p will rise to 60p on April 30. Second class stamps will go up from 36p to 50p.

Emma Simpson reports.
