IMF raises its global growth forecast to 3.5% for 2012

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has raised its global growth forecast for the first time in more than a year, saying the world economy will expand by 3.5% in 2012.

That is up from its initial projection of 3.3% expansion.

In Asia, China's growth is forecast to slow to 8.2% while Japan's economy is forecast to growth by 2%.

Asia Business Report's Rico Hizon spoke to Marc Lansonneur, regional head of investment teams at Societe Generale Private Bank.

He said the eurozone still remained weak and that Asia would need to help lead growth.
