Tesco 'put too little into shops'

Tesco's chief executive Philip Clarke has admitted there has been too little investment in its UK stores in the past.

Mr Clarke took over Tesco's UK operations in March, following the company's first profits warning for 20 years in January.

Speaking to the BBC, Mr Clarke said: "Tesco didn't put enough back into the stores, maybe took a little out."
