JP Morgan loss: Bank risks 'different in Asia'

The chief investment officer of JP Morgan, Ina Drew, is to leave the US bank following a shock $2bn loss from trading activities.

The incident has prompted renewed debate about the regulation of banking, with President Obama saying it demonstrates the need for tougher rules that have been passed by Congress but not yet fully implemented.

But issues at Asian banks differ from those in the US and Europe, as Sumit Agarwal from the National University of Singapore explained when asked if Asian banks took on similar levels of risk.
