My Bottom Line: Nick Buckles, CEO of G4S

Nick Buckles is the CEO of security giant G4S, external.

He explains how saving your client money - and reducing your own company's income - can actually be a good thing.

Nick recalls an example where one of G4S's key clients - the British government - asked the company to find ways to reduce the costs of its contracts. G4S presented 40 to 50 proposals which reduced government spending with the company.

However, these savings led to new government contracts as the money saved in one sector was then spent in other areas.

Nick appeared on The Bottom Line which is broadcast on BBC Radio 4 and BBC World Service. Listen again via the podcast or watch it on the BBC News Channel.
