Labour on unemployment: 'Not out of the woods yet'

Labour has welcomed a fall in unemployment figures but said "we are not out of the woods yet".

The number of people out of work fell by 82,000 between August and October, to 2.51 million, official figures have shown.

It was the biggest quarterly fall in unemployment since 2001.

The unemployment rate was 7.8%, down 0.2 percentage points from the previous three months.

Shadow work and pensions secretary Liam Byrne told BBC News that there had been a slow down in job creation and wages were not rising as fast as prices.
