Shinzo Abe's election rhetoric was 'very aggressive'

Shinzo Abe, who has led the conservative Liberal Democratic Party to a thumping win in the Japan's general elections, has made big promises to help revive growth in the Japanese economy.

He has said he will implement policies aimed at weakening the yen and fighting deflation.

His victory saw Japan's Nikkei 225 index rise 1%, while the Japanese currency fell to a 20-month low of 84.48 yen against the US dollar.

Yuuki Sakurai from Fukoku Capital Management told the BBC that Mr Abe's rhetoric during the election campaign was "very aggressive".
