1,700 apply for eight Costa jobs in Nottingham

More than 1,700 people applied for just eight jobs at a new Costa Coffee shop in Nottingham.

The roles had a salary of over £20,000 and Costa UK's HR director Suzie Welch told BBC Radio 2's Jeremy Vine that the job of a barista is now seen as a popular long-term career choice.
